A Spider At Work

It Really Is Fall

Today I saw one of those miracles that reminds me how perfectly the creation works itself out. God truly made something so spectacular that it is just awe inspiring. It is Fall and all of those things that have to happen at this time of year, happen all by themselves!

Today, I watched as a spider – and I’m talkin’ BIG spider – made a web all the way from one tree to another by swinging on a gossimer strand like an acrobatic Errol Flynn on a chandelier. Every Fall, including in the book Charlotte’s Web, these big spiders weave their artwork and lay their eggs.

It just let itself be carried by the wind

What Gravity??

I know it looks suspended in space. Pretty cool even if it IS a spider.

Twice now I have seen those weaver spiders making webs and even fed them fat little grasshoppers. I was rewarded with an egg sack and new babies the following year.

It is almost a rite of Autumn to see these beautiful creatures do their artwork on the trees and garden.

Once I brought out a hand spray bottle of water and misted the web. It was so big, gorgeous and beautiful, like a lacy diamond cape. Thank you for sharing.

    Blessings, Janet W.

  2. Oh! I never thought of misting the web. What a good idea!! Yes, their artwork is amazing! Thanks for the idea!!

Yes indeed. It is fall. My Ash tree is nearly bare (first one to go every year). Elms are well on their way (second ones every year). Great colors in my back yard. Orange, red, purple, yellow, and… even green. I must take time to enjoy this, because in 3-4 weeks, all the leaves will be down (except for the Oaks). The Oak leaves will be brown, but they can linger on the trees through half the winter. Time flies. Sigh…

    (:D) Best regards…

  4. What color do ash trees turn in the Fall??
